Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively small location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are supposedly needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is real of many border crossings.
The initial Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling hall, features 150 one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains numerous amenities in addition to the gambling den, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 gaming tables.
