Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a generally small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and although visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of many borders.
The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel building that contains a number of comforts aside from the casino, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
